Massage Therapy in St. Albert and Edmonton

Massage Therapy

Massage therapy is part of integrative medicine and is a healing technique where our Registered Massage Therapists (RMT) use manual adjustments of your body’s soft tissue to alleviate stress and tension.

Our massage therapists use several massage techniques with the use of their hands, elbows and forearms to treat your muscular stress and reduce pain so you can return to daily activities, especially after rehabilitation from injury or surgery.

Benefits of Massage Therapy

How Can Massage Benefit Your Life?

Relieve Muscle Tension and Pain

Massage therapy helps to release tight muscles, reduce muscle tension and alleviate pain caused by physical stress, overuse, or injury. Massage improves flexibility and range of motion.

Supports Rehabilitation and Injury Recovery

Massage therapy is an important component of rehabilitation and injury recovery by promoting tissue healing, reducing scar tissue formation, and improving joint mobility and flexibility.

Promotes Relaxation

Massage therapy triggers the relaxation response in your body, leading to reduced levels of stress hormones, such as cortisol, and increased levels of feel-good hormones, like serotonin and dopamine. Massage promotes a sense of relaxation, calmness and overall well-being.

Improves Circulation

Massage therapy enhances blood circulation, which helps to deliver oxygen and nutrients to your body’s tissues and organs more efficiently. Improved circulation can also aid in the removal of metabolic waste products from your muscles, reducing inflammation and promoting faster healing.

Boosts Immune Function

Massage therapy has been shown to stimulate your body’s lymphatic system, which plays a crucial role in your body’s immune response. By enhancing lymphatic circulation, massage can help remove toxins and pathogens from your body, strengthening your immune system.

Reduces Stress and Anxiety

Massage therapy can significantly reduce levels of stress, anxiety and depression by promoting relaxation and reducing the physical and emotional symptoms associated with these conditions. Massage can improve your quality of sleep and enhance your mood.

Enhances Mental Clarity and Focus

Massage therapy can improve cognitive function, mental clarity, and concentration by reducing mental fatigue and promoting a sense of alertness and vitality.

Relieves Headaches and Migraines

Massage therapy techniques, such as acupressure and trigger point therapy, can help alleviate tension headaches and migraines by targeting specific pressure points and releasing muscle tension in the head, neck and shoulders.

Improves Posture

Massage therapy can help correct postural imbalances, relieve muscular tension, and strengthen weak muscles, leading to improved posture and alignment of your body.

Enhances Quality of Life

Massage therapy addresses physical discomfort, reduces your stress, and promotes relaxation and well-being to improve your overall quality of life, with a greater sense of vitality and resilience.

Atitiya Mis

Massage Therapist

Atitiya was born and raised in Thailand, where massage is an integral part of Thai people’s well-being and a way of showing affection within families. This cultural background provides her with a unique perspective and advantage that she shares with our clients.

She graduated from the Alberta College of Massage Therapy (ACMT) in 2021 with Honours with Distinction and has been enjoying this rewarding profession ever since. Eager to expand her expertise, she later completed the Manual Osteopathic Therapy program at the Manual Osteopathic College of Canada (MOCC), graduating in 2024.

As part of her Manual Osteopathy training, Atitiya has completed both the first and second levels of CranioSacral Therapy and the first level of SomatoEmotional Release through the Upledger Institute. She has also completed her first levels of Visceral Manipulation and Neural Manipulation through the Barral Institute and looks forward to furthering her education in these areas.

Atitiya became a Massage Therapist out of a deep passion for helping people restore, maintain, and enhance their mental and physical health through the healing power of massage. She has always sought a career where she could make a meaningful difference in people’s lives and help others feel better. Through Massage Therapy—and now with the addition of Manual Osteopathic Therapy—she continues to dedicate herself to supporting her clients’ overall health and well-being.
